The 1st International EJC-PISE Workshop in Riga - a new tradition of international scientific cooperation around the Baltic Sea Region
The network BalticNet-PlasmaTec jointly with the European Society of Thin Films (Dresden, Germany) and the Riga Technical University (Riga, Latvia) is organising the 1st International EJC-PISE Workshop on:
Plasma Surface Engineering – Decorative and Protective Coatings
Workshop and Industrial Exhibition
The 1st International Workshop, which will be held in Riga (Latvia), June 9-10, 2009, is a new initiative of the European Joint Committee on Plasma and Ion Surface Engineering (EJC-PISE), well known as the organiser of the International Conference on Plasma Surface Engineering (PSE), taking place every two years in Germany.
The aim of this International Workshop is to improve the scientific and industrial cross-border cooperation in the field of Plasma Surface Engineering in the Baltic Sea Regions. Moreover, the EJC-PISE workshop concentrates on applications of plasma and ion-/particle-beam for surface treatment.
The workshop will offer a scientific programme covering the following topics:
- Wear protective coatings for tools and automotive parts
- Biocompatible coatings for medical applications
- Corrosion protection coatings
- Decorative coating of plastic and metal parts
- Coatings for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
Kindly invited to the Workshop are both scientists from research organizations and engineers from the industry, who are interested in new contacts and cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region. Welcome to participate in the industrial exhibition are companies dealing with equipment, products and materials related to all areas of protective and decorative coatings based science, technology and applications.
