Lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions, safety and more driving pleasure are the goals which Schaeffler pursues together with its partners from the automotive industry. Rolling bearings, engine components, transmission and clutch components are specially developed for the respective applications, according to specific customer needs. They are then approved on testing and evaluation facilities, some of which have been developed in-house. This guarantees the customer the highest level of quality and reliability for the series.
The Industrial division offers an extremely broad range of products with over 225,000 products for applications in some 60 industrial sectors. Design solutions for bearings in a wide range of applications are developed in close consultation with the customer, optimally tuned to individual requirements and designed to offer the greatest benefits. The range goes from millimeter-sized high-precision bearings for dental drills or machine tools to bearings more than four meters large for tunnel boring machines or wind power plants.
In the aerospace industry, Schaeffler is also regarded as the world’s leading manufacturer of high-precision bearings with its FAG and Barden brands, and develops innovative products for aircraft and helicopter engines as well as for space applications. Schaeffler is the development partner and preferred supplier for almost all modern engine designs, developing rolling bearings, for example, for the Ariane 5, Airbus 380 and Boeing 738 Dreamliner engines.
