About us
EST Company has exploited and patented the completely new type of low-temperature plasma (Atmospheric Discharge with Runaway Electrons plasma, hereafter cited as ADRE plasma). It combines the benefits of the discharges of low-temperature plasma at low pressure and plasma at the atmospheric pressure.
Our company is searching for partners to realize the installations on the industrial level, mutual production and further promotion on the market.
In 2008 EST Company became a resident of the Russian Specific Economic Zone, located in the city of Tomsk, and in 2009 the company opened its office in Moscow. EST Company evolves dynamically. The pillars of our team are members of Russian Academy of Sciences (Siberian unit) and the Universities of Tomsk that have broad experience in the sphere of research and implementation processes. Among our business partners who are preoccupied with the implementation of the unique technologies we can name companies in Russia, Europe, China and Taiwan. One of the main peculiar features of ADRE plasma is the formation of a great amount of fast electrons in the area of the discharge, these electrons obtain energy up to several dozens of kiloelectron-volt (keV), whereas the average electron energy in other discharges amounts to a few electronvolt. In addition to activation and modification of the surfaces of different materials and articles, due to the electrons with high energy, ADRE plasma exercises a destructive effect on organic and non-organic compounds, as well as bacteria and viruses. That’s why we work in two directions:
1. Disinfection and sterilization of the surfaces of solid objects, liquids and gases.
High energy of ADRE discharge lets electrons cover the distance in a few centimeters (up to 6 sm) at the atmospheric pressure in the air, affect bacteria cells and cause effective destruction of DNA, RNA, membranes and other organelles. The same effect is created with such stable forms of bacteria as filmy and spore bacteria. The positive sterilization results with the application of our method have been confirmed by the findings of the bacteriological laboratories in Tomsk. The period of sterilization using ADRE plasma does not exceed 3 seconds. At the same time all known type of sterilization last about an hour or even more. Due to this fact our technology can be incorporated in the assembly line. Thus far EST Company has developed display samples of chamber and assembly line sterilizers and water purification and disinfection installations.
2. Activation and modification of surfaces.
The core of this direction is in increasing capillarity and wetting ability. EST Company offers a positively new method of processing. In terms of efficiency of the impact on wetting and other properties of materials surfaces, ADRE plasma surpasses considerably all existing atmospheric discharges and is close to the discharges of low pressure. This allows to process material at a high rate, and there appears a possibility of incorporation into the continuous technological process. Expenditures on vacuum chambers, pumps, extra spools, etc. are reduced significantly at that. Our company has developed pilot machines of assembly line type that demonstrate clearly the whole process of material processing.
