Dürr System GmbH
Dürr is one of the world's leading suppliers of systems services and products for the car making industry. We are present on the ground with our sales, services, engineering and manufacturing capabilities at all locations where cars are manufactured. We also supply the aviation industry, the mechanical engineering sector, and the chemical, pharmaceutical and printing industries. We achieve about 85% of our sales in the automotive business. About 60% of our activities are in plant engineering, 40% are in the machinery industry. Dürr is directly represented with 47 business locations and 25 production sites in 21 countries.
We offer intelligent, energy-saving and eco-friendly solutions that have a major influence on enhancing the quality and flexibility of our customers' production and assembly processes. The aim of Dürr's research work is the development of innovative products to reduce our customers' costs per unit, and to guarantee compliance with high environmental standards at the same time.
The Dürr Group is represented in the market with two divisions that are subdivided into six business units. The Paint and Assembly Division offers production and paint finishing systems for all aspects for the car and aviation industry. Machinery supplied by Measuring and Process Systems is used in the manufacture of engines and transmissions and in final assembly.
The aim we are pursuing is to increase our profitability on a sustained basis. For us, the continuous optimization of our business processes is an ongoing issue. Apart from the increased internationalization of our portfolio, our efforts are also focused on the extension of our service business. This is achieved thanks to the widespread sale of our machinery and equipment to customers around the world. About 60% of all automotive paint shops and about 50% of all assembly plants work with Dürr technology.
We want to continuously improve our consultancy services with more than 100 employees and with the experience gained from 1500 projects. We also want to grow in specific sectors such as the aviation industry. We will rely on our strengths: innovative power and turnkey competence, global presence, especially in growth markets, and the experience and know-how of our workforce of about 6000 employees.
Paint and Assembly Systems
Paint and Assembly Systems primarily represents systems and equipment business within the automotive industry. We are the leading supplier worldwide of mass production paint shops for automobile manufacturers and suppliers. Paint and Assembly Systems plans and carries out complete assembly lines for the final assembly of vehicles. The range of products and services is rounded off with exhaust-air purification systems for different industries as well as with assembly and paint systems for aircraft construction.
Measuring and Process Systems
Measuring and Process Systems offers machines and systems for balancing and diagnostic as well as for industrial cleaning. We hold leading positions in world markets in both these fields and our name stands for innovative, top-quality solutions. The range of products is rounded off with assembly, filling and test stands. Our largest group of customers is the automotive industry, where our equipment is used, for example, in the manufacture of engines and transmissions. Other major customer groups are the aerospace industry, the engineering industry, the electrical industry and the power generation industry.
Robotic Painting
The automotive industry is constantly increasing its emphasis on fully automated robots in mass-production painting. The Dürr Ecopaint painting robot, which can be seen in the film, is the most successful product of its type worldwide with more than 3,000 installations.
RoDip
With the RoDip dip-painting process the body is primed at the beginning of the painting process. Specific to RoDip: The body rotates in the dipping basin and an optimal moisturizing is thereby applied, even in cavities.
Industrial Cleaning Technology
Engine and transmission components must be precisely cleaned prior to assembly in order to prevent operation breakdowns – preferably with equipment by Dürr Ecoclean. In the film you will see how workpieces in a cage are immersed in the cleaning fluid.
Final Assembly
A finished automobile results within just a few hours from a painted body and a multitude of components in the final assembly of automobiles. Dürr supplies the technology for assembly, filling, testing and materials flow.
Balancing
From miniature engines weighing just a few grams to 400-ton heavy aggregates of a steam turbine: revolving and oscillating components must be balanced in order to increase the service life and quality of the products. The film shows a 6-station machine that balances an electric armature every five seconds recorded in an electrical engine production facility.
