Office

The Technology Centre Vorpommern in Greifswald was appointed from the executive board of BalticNet-PlasmaTec to undertake the task of being the main office.
Since more than 100 years, Greifswald is an internationally recognized centre of plasma research. Well-known research institutions, such as the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics – Greifswald Branch, the Department of Physics at the University of Greifswald and the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology, continue the research traditions in this area with currently more than 650 employees.
Greifswald and Szczecin (7th largest city of Poland) maintain a close friendship already since 1996. Both cities do not only share the Baltic Sea location in Pomerania along the German-Polish border with a leading role in the “Euroregion Pomerania” but also common plasma research projects since years.
Europe-wide renowned top research and technology especially in the sector of plasma technology make Greifswald unique.
